Mystical Origins: The Olympian Age of Imperia's Universe

Ashtar's deception had worked, the Titans were overthrown and the Olympians were now in control of Imperia as well as Earth. Humans were prospering on Earth and the Verdane were prospering on Imperia and for now everything seemed to calm down within the universe.

The Olympians made two centers of power, both called by the name of Mt. Olympus and from these points they would oversee their interests on the two worlds. The first was located in what is known as the European continent of the planet Earth. Here history proceeded normally, with life being made within the cradle of civilization and all of recorded history before 44 BC, as we know it, occured normally. The part where everything changes, in 44 BC (Earth Time) shall be explained later.

Imperia's Mt. Olympus was located in the area known as Aeris and it was here that the Olympians also started a second Greek culture in the lands. The Verdania remained in the Roshack area and over time they expanded but the Olympians deemed them too far away from their Imperia holdings to be of any concern. With the two points of power, Imperia and Earth, established soon the Olympian Pantheon grew in power and influence as Ashtar quietly watched over them.

Zeus arose as the King of the Gods, overseeing his dominion from the Mt. Olympus of Imperia as he guided the humans along, while keeping an eye on the other races of the land. Zeus maintained a strict rule over Imperia and was very oppressing in his own way as he drove out several creatures native to Aeris in favor of keeping the human settlement there. Eventually in his aggressive claim of Aeris, he came across two races existing along the northern reaches both underground and in the warm seas - The Illithid and the Kopru.

Neither of the two races were intent on giving up their lands to the humans and a brief struggle ensued between the Aeris Humans and the Illithid/Kopru. The Illithid and Kopru appeared similar, if not some odd cousins of each other and they both shared a strong ability at mind control. However where the Illithid were able to embrace psionics and mental attacks, the Kopru increased their own abilities at mental domination. While the Aeris Humans had more numbers, they were no match for psionic warfare and soon humans began to fall in combat by either being claimed by the Illithid as food or by the Kopru as slaves. Soon Zeus stepped in with the aid of another Olympian by the name of Poseidon.

Poseidon, who held his own nation on Earth known as Atlantis, came to Zeus's aid and drove the Kopru and Illithid away from Aeris. The Illithid moved underground, while the Kopru relocated to an expanse of islands to the north of Aeris. Both races vowed to the Olympians that this transgression would never be forgotten. Poseidon's own nation of Atlantis on Earth was a golden land, one that was quickly advancing and later on it would become the target of an act of revenge by the Kopru. However while Poseidon held his own lands on Earth, he was not the overseer of Earth so he had to answer to another...Hera.

Hera, wife of Zeus, was in command of the Mt. Olympus on Earth and she guided several nations along as well as her own lands of the Amazons. The other Gods of the Pantheon were divided into their own areas and all but Hades moved between both worlds tending to matters concerning the mortals. Hades himself had a much different and seemingly less luxurious task of maintaining the underworld of the universe known on Earth as "Hell" and on Imperia as "The Plane of Vertax" (Later to be renamed the Plane of Oblivious in the 700s of Imperia time.

Hades domain included what was known as the Plane of Vertax with beneath that existing the layers known only as the "Abyss". While not his personal Plane, he was overseeing it in the absence of Vertax and governing over the dead and the damned of Imperia and Earth. With this system of order and chain of command established, both planets prospered and their history went on for millenia as races evolved from beyond the stone age to a way of life similar to ancient Greece's development level. At this time it was known as circa 12,000 BC (Imperia Time) and circa 11,000 BC (Earth time) when finally the Primals returned.

With the matter that drew them away finally resolved, the Primals returned along with another Primal sent by the Hierarchy, Lothos. Ashtar's plot was exposed and he was found guilty. What became of him is unclear as many theorize he was either outright destroyed or split into small fragments. However at this point the Ten was reorganized and Taidet took on Ashtar's former responsibilities. Taidet's position then soon fell to Lothos.

Lothos took on Taidet's former position as the Primal of Nature, Heaven, Earth and Good and Taidet took on Ashtar's former position as the Primal of Mortality, Destiny & Balance. It was at this point Taidet and Daeril started to grow closer but the full consequences of that love was not to be realized till millenia down the road. For now the Primals had a much larger task at hand in determining the fate of the Olympians. Zeus, now that he lacked Ashtar's backing, was quick to swear loyalty to the Primals and the immortal struggle quickly came to a close. However as time went by the political landscape of Verdania and much of Imperia was quickly shifting and a new conflict was inevitable.
