The Primal religion spans countless universes and multiverses and is the religion behind several in one form of the other.  Very little is known of the Primals or the system of management they have established being ten Primals assigned to one domain or universe with all reporting to a higher plane known only as the “Hierarchy”. Regardless if fully worshipped or even known by their true titles those below them are worshipped by others within planets and areas that the Primal religion has not fully spread yet make no mistake about their control for they are the guardians of the universe.

No law has been laid down on how to worship them as is apparent in other religions such as religious services on a set date. They represent ideals, forces of nature and ways of life. Churches and Temples to all exist in several areas with one as different as the others. Whereas a Temple of Enshar may be a structure devoted to erotic decadence, a Temple of Lothos would be a meadow grove where nature thrives. Some can worship many but none that oppose each other and there exist Clerics, Paladins, Priests, Priestesses as well as the darker more corrupted versions of those professions. Within each are it’s children the Infernals and Celestials. While rarely seen, both creatures fight for the same thing but with opposing methods – the attention of their Primals. The Celestials believe that aiding the mortals will work to garner praise whereas the Infernals view the mortals as nothing more than rats to be squashed. However in the end both view the mortals as mere ants and things to be used to attain a higher goal.

Worship of One, more than one, or all Ten as a whole is acceptable however battles have been known to occur between opposing religions such as Oblivious and Lothos.

In the Beginning…

The creation myth and legend changes for each race and culture and is more altered by governmental or racial interpretations than true religious study and scholarly research. What is mostly agreed on is the following, which is taken from the text of several tomes of Arcnov Church:

"Where the universe existed was only the Ten who laid out the tapestries of the universe and created the spheres to later become the planets. They illuminated the great darkness with lights to fight the total darkness of night and forged balls of fire to give the people warmth during the day. When the universe was made the Primals ruled for millennia till a great task summoned them away. One is unsure of what this task is but many believe it was to fight a great war, to aid in the building of a new universe or to build the spheres and balls of fire on the outer edge of the universe. Before departing the Primals forged forth the overseers of the mortals – the Titans. The Titans were given control and domain over all they see and charged forth to act in the Primals place of protecting the mortals from threats unseen."

This part of legend seems to be the strongest as the Titans and their Immortal offspring are depicted in several tales and legends such as the Zeus mythology of ancient Earth. Yet to each planet and race the Titans and Immortals bear different names. It is unknown for how long the Titans ruled, as recorded history was extremely sketchy back in those days. The legend continues however:

"The mortals were greatly abused by the Titans and in protest the Immortals rose up to claim freedom from them. Son and Parent collided and soon many of the Titan fell in battle and were cast forth into prisons scattered among several planets and dark expanses of space within the universe."

It is important to point out that other books speaking of the same time for some reason mention the “Immortals”, those children who fought the Titans, as “Dreamweavers”.

"Returning from their long absence the Primals found the universe within chaos and banished the remaining Titans and their children from power and retook the reigns of the universe’s destiny. They have ruled justly ever since."

Changing of the Guard

The Ten that rule now are not the exact same Ten that have always ruled. Sometimes Primals vanished as it is rumored they either cease to be or go forth to serve in other planes however a few Primals are rumored to have meet unfortunate demises.

Taidet & Daeril Two who once tried to mate and form their own child, stirred by love and lust where found by the Ten and imprisoned into swords being respectfully Skyflare and Thunderquake. Their tale is the most tragic tale ever and is retold frequently in several theaters and by stage performers.
Vertax The only Primal ever known to of truly died, he was slain by the Necromancer Cronyx Ravage and the remains of his essence fused into a blade where this former Primal of Death can resume his own agenda and goal of bringing forth chaos and darkness to the reaches of the universe.

Some have maintained their posts forever but over time there have been a few shifts and changes.

Krondor, Argus, Tempest and Mezul – These Primals have retained their posts from the very beginning.
Oblivious – He rose up into the slot Vertax had abandoned upon the Primal’s death at the hands of Cronyx Ravage.
Tiordras – This Primal succeeded Aquas upon his departure.
Lothos – This Primal succeeded Taidet.
Enshar – This Primal succeeded Isis.
Lightshire & Kraeth – These two have only recently appeared within the last decade or have made their existence known to Imperia however it is known that Lightshire is a man who, from his service to the Primals, ascended into the Primal levels.

Krondor

Primal of War, Law & Order

His normal appearance is of a nine-foot tall steel golem with no clothing and his humanoid form very smooth and pristine as the steel gleams of a wide variety of colors. Looking upon his face you would see a very somber and serious expression giving off no emotion, warmth or happiness. His attitude is strictly one of a focused warrior, set on his goal and purpose and not bound to forsake it on mere distractions such as happiness, love or grief.

Krondor is believed to be the "Elder" Primal among the Ten, and the one who commands over them in an unofficial manner and leads any battles should the Primals find themselves threatened. He, like all others, have countless titles but a few Krondor is known by is "The Steel Hand of Victory", "The True Warrior", and "Conquerer".

Dogma: Krondor is seen as the lawmaker, the upholder and the punisher among many other deities and worshippers. For him to be involved in a matter means judgement and punishment shall soon be dished out. His Churches and Temples teach the importance of conflict for the sake of inner strength and progress, not to kill. Those who follow Krondor follow the art of war and the pursuit of justice. Conflict is seen as a part of life and from that a necessary field from which to weed out the weak from the strong. Many do not try and actively cause such conflict or seek it out however there are a few radical sects within the religion who travel about for new foes to battle, new areas to conquer and for new glories to be won. Combat is done not for killing but for the sheer love of the battle as if it was a sport. On the justice slant of the religion are those who devote their lives to capture wanted fugitives or merit out fair and unbiased judgments and sentences.

Those of Krondor have been known to take it upon themselves to act as mediators and judges be it if both or any sides of the debate ask for their help and the Laws of Krondor - The Warrior Code - is strongly followed by those who gather at his places of worship. To attack one who is unarmed is seen as a disgrace, to run from a battle is seen as cowardice and to embrace chaos is unforgiveable.

Places of Worship: The typical Temple or Church of Krondor is a warrior’s hall. One where grand battles are retold among large tankards of drink and large feasts and where many discuss the law of the land and of where chaos has threatened to take hold. A Cleric of Krondor devotes his time to honing battle magic such as armor, offensive or awareness enchantments. Others also work to help locate missing criminals or offer their magic to help conjure up spirits and ghosts to testify at courts. A Paladin of Krondor is no more than what many would call a Barbarian. One who cares not for his appearance but lives his life day to day seeking one worthy foe to the next. To pick on the meek or a foe obviously weaker than yourself is considered sacrilege to Krondor and an offense. No follower of Krondor dares strike an unarmed person and would rather disarm him or herself to make for a fair fight. The only exception to this is in areas of justice when they are seeking a criminal who has managed to flee the law and vengeance demands his capture and death. Scared places to them are the sites of grand battles such as the fields of Norcon, and the very battle fortress of Damocles Imperial Castle. Of great offense to them are areas where chaotic energy reigns supreme such as Mt. Doom or of groups and organizations that make their living on the bending and breaking of laws such as Thieves Guilds. It is not unheard of for several followers of Krondor from one of his Temples to band together, locate a Thieves Guild and then go into it in a battle charge and capture every single thief, take back the possessions as evidence then burn the guildhall to the ground.

Ideals & Followers: Followers are most likely to be career military, judges, marshals, bounty hunters, and tacticians. To a follower of Krondor there is no greater thing than to see justice finally served, order upholding above chaos and for a battle worthy of song and story. Worshippers of Krondor are usually very intelligent and ambitious types. The faith is a highly structured network spread heavily through Damocles schools and military academies. While they will always seek to achieve success in whatever they do, they do so through rigid rules set by the Church. Priests do not necessarily stick in churches their whole life, but show their faith by enlisting in a military, guard, or political position. Paladins are generally combat hungry; however, they do not revel at being in the chaos of the battle themselves. Relationships with others are always given a back seat to a follower of Krondor unless it is born out of strategy. Love, sex, and courting are commonly very private until an actual marriage is planned. Marriage is rare for a follower of Krondor, however, as it usually jeopardizes and slows one's ambition and ability to work. Worshippers are usually very private, tactically intelligent workaholics.

The Cleric/Priest of Krondor - The War Priest: The Priest/Priestess of Krondor is dedicated to the magics of war and battle. Such spells like stoneskin, mage armor, magic weapon, shield, blur, bull's strength, mirror image, protection from arrows, keen edge and fire shield are at their beck and call. They cannot revive people or remove curses, nor can they identify magic items and their healing is not as good as that of a Priest of Lothos. Any healing done by a Priest of Krondor leaves a visible scar, and does not sooth the pain of the wound itself. Priests will issue out their services for battle commanders, putting their magics to use for those they deem worthy.
The Paladin of Krondor - Knight: The Knights represent combat, law and order which is what Krondor stands for. This does not represent a certain order, but more the typical lifestyle of what one would call a Knight who serves both Krondor and his/her King/Ruler. They are adorned in grand armor, and flock to wherever any Tournaments or grand battles are held, honor is to be won and prizes to be found. They represent valor, bravery and the best of warrior skills and abilities. The Knight has no outstanding magics, or any magics at all and is a total warrior.
Primals Favored: Not many are regarded in high esteem by this religion, as they remain neutral to most however hold some regard for Mezul as the two Primals together represent the concept of “Neutral” between good and evil.
Primals Opposed: Oblivious represents the forces of chaos and the killing for the love of death. Followers of Krondor oppose these murders by capturing and bringing them to justice or by establishing order and laws within chaotic towns and havens who have embraced the ideals of anarchy as taught by Oblivious.
Omens: All swords and weapons within his proximity shaking violently against their sheaths and brackets as if the weapons were yelling to be drawn and hurled into battle herald his arrival. His curses vary between the minor such as weapons breaking apart and clumsiness in battle as well as problems with the law towards the severe like a total loss of fighting knowledge and weapons just shattering with grasped by the cursed being. Krondor however does shower gifts and blessings upon those who please him in worship and by fulfilling their duty as an effective warrior with a code of honor or a fair enforcer of the law and those blessings are usually increased battle abilities or gifted weaponry such as swords, battle axes and gauntlets. However Krondor is more prone to curse one than to bless one, as he demands strict obedience from his followers.

Argus

Primal of Humor, Information & Fabrications

Argus has been known to most appear as a human male of his early thirties with a whimsical grin and a youthful expression with short and black spiky hair. Sometimes he appears in a uniform of a Damocles Army officer, with the rank of Lieutenant, which harkens back to the days he posed as an Army officer during the First Damocles-Shadow Knight War cause he was bored.
Ideals: The entire world is a stage to them be it thru the amusement or deception of others. Many court jesters, comedians, a few thieves, sages and scholars follow this Primal. A Court Jester would follow Argus cause he believes in humor and spreading happiness thru it. Argus stands for comedy, factual information and deception. A follower would be either a court jester who hopes that his jokes and tales are amusing, a scholar who devotes himself to recording the known history of a race, or a thief who aims to deceive a person in a card game or manage a successful counterfeit. Those who follow this Primal look at life with a sort of detachment, a lack of seriousness. Some accuse them of either being selfish or ignorant yet they are far from ignorant. Many devote themselves to the sheer gathering of facts and information much in a way a collector of artwork gathers as many paintings as he can. Of the Primals Argus is the most laid back and relaxed and many view life as a game and a party, not with the usual seriousness as those of Krondor would or the need for self-control as those of Mezul would. To many Argus is also a creative Muse and inspires up grand ballads, jokes and even the best plays from “Dantanian Nights” to “Raltheon’s Peril” and “Taidet & Daeril” which are some of the most famous stage plays and are showing nightly in several stages all across the known region. The more corrupted followers of Argus are thieves, rogues, fences and counterfeiters and those who prey on others with lies and deceptions.

Places of Worship: Comedy Halls, Stages, Libraries and areas of performance are where those of Argus flock to most. Of the most cherished of this is the Plucked Harlot Theater located within Dantania. This grand theater has been the home for several plays, jesters in training and acts who pride themselves on humor, knowing the routine and being able to have a person believe in the role the actor is pretending to be. Those areas and domains, which demand strictness of behavior, the rigid discipline of law and the whole truth and nothing but are not where followers of Argus would best be found.

Primals Favored: Most Favored is Enshar as her free expression of love and emotions goes hand in hand with the free-spirited nature of a follower of Argus.
Primals Opposed: Followers of Argus often find themselves in dispute and mild opposition to followers of Mezul who practice a restraint of emotions and followers of Krondor who’s truth seeking and justice demanding nature sometimes collide with the underhanded and deceptive ways of Argus.
Omens: His coming is heralded by the sudden awareness of a rather useless fact such as how many walnuts one could fit into a burlap sack, the wind speed of an East Roshack Sparrow as opposed to that of a Northern Greyhelm Sparrow and how many woodchucks could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood. Also a person in range suddenly telling a rather humorous joke or an outright lie either announces his following. His blessings are usually around luck and chance, as many believe he controls probability and his blessing is useful in card or dice games. Also his blessing comes in the form of a favored book suddenly gaining a few extra pages of information or one’s lies and alibis being airtight and believable. His curses bring one the most unfortunate of bad luck, a forgetful nature, and no one believing a word the person says. Argus’s Clerics sometimes dispense forth his curses and blessings on what they believe to be his whim and directions however Argus remains one of the more elusive Primals.

Lothos

Primal of Nature, Heaven, Earth and Good.

Ideals: Lothos followers are those who value the preservation of nature and support the light than the dark. When Earth is mentioned it doesn’t refer to the planet but to the ground itself and the element. The basic good guys area of the Primals as well as Druids, Clerics and anyone who wants to do good just for the sake of doing good. Lothos's plane is also the "Heaven" of Imperia and it's universe. Druids, Paladins of the Holy Order, Clerics and Doctors devoted to healing and medicine all take inspiration from Lothos. It is believed that he rules the plane regarded as the very heaven of the universe, the Plane of Lothos, and he represents the side of good and light whereas Oblivious represents evil and the forces of darkness. Lothos wishes for a form of passive resistance and is not as battle hungry as those of Krondor however Krondor and Mezul represent the more Neutral side of the equation and stand between the two sides of this eternal struggle. Many Elvin folk and races who flock within nature find solace within Lothos and work to help repair forests and lands destroyed. The more corrupt and fanatical actively work or attack logging operations, engage in extremist actions in the name of environmentalism such as trying to destroy mines and heavily protest the use and continued development of the Justice Bioweapon by Damocles which many view as the greatest threat to all of nature and life. Above all else they feel that life must be preserved, nature must be defended, evil shall be vanquished and that passage into Lothos’s plane is the ultimate reward. Lothos also represents the elemental force of earth and stands in opposition of wind as it wears down the mountains and earth and of water as it seeks to swallow the land.

Places of Worship: Arcnov Church is the sacred ground of Lothos as this Damocles Church is the training ground of several Clerics and Paladins including the SwordMages. Other such havens are nature spots, forest grooves and places where nature reigns supreme and has not been spoiled by civilization. Of great offense and insult to them are areas of evil and death such as Castle Vinader and detonation spots of Justice Bioweapons like Daguenet, Brookstin, and land nearest to Aelvius Castle. Within these areas all life has ceased to exist and the ghosts of the deceased thrive here among Talasium deposits. The Shadow Knight Empire is greatly opposed by them for the policy of the Shadow Knights of strip mining worlds and using up all natural resources and there remains some protest against the Damocles Military who still advocates the use, research and continued production of the Justice Bioweapon, which can only be fired from the Charon class airship.

Primals Favored: Others are held with amiable but neutral feelings provided they act for the greater good of the land and the people.
Primals Opposed: As it should be where good vs. evil, the light opposes the dark there is Lothos who opposes Oblivious. The struggle between these two sometimes takes on hostile forms and the two Primals are on the extreme ends of the spectrum and in extreme opposition of each other. Lothos followers of the elemental forces of earth also oppose those of Tiordras (Water and Wind/Air)
Omens: The thriving of nature in the area and the sudden growth of plant life and the blooming of lush and beautiful flowers announce his coming. Blessings from him take the form of bountiful harvests, the sudden appearance of grain in a granary, the waters of a spring becoming clear and healing to drink, and the sudden appearance of a beautiful clear sky among where there should be dark gloomy clouds. The sudden wilting of plants within a person’s presence and creatures of nature suddenly attacking one who is not of his favor show his anger.
Typical Appearance: Sometimes appears as an elderly elf in earth-toned robes holding a staff of ancient oak with vines wrapped around it. His face is of a kind-hearted man and with each step he takes the earth beneath him is restored and revitalized. Some say the sudden and overnight transformations of barren fields into fruitful bounties is cause Lothos walked over the field as the world slept.

Oblivious

Primal of Death, Hell, Chaos & Evil

Ideals: All that is dark and evil within the world. Necromancers, Fighters who fight just to kill and those opposed to the order of government flock to this banner. Oblivious's plane is the "Hell" of Imperia and it's universe. Some say Oblivious peers over his followers and enemies from atop a throne of skulls and bone with a staff carved from the flesh of those who opposed him before. Into his Plane exist what others call Hell, the Abyss, Damnation and the great darkness. Several demons such as Balors, Succubi, Incubus and others exist here and Oblivious’s plane holds the tortured souls of those whose life was pledged to darkness and to the great evils of the land. Followers of him are almost always considered “corrupt” as his clerics are dark priests and Necromancers and his Paladins are Blackguard and Executioners. His domain exists where Lothos’s ends, where nature stops and death begins such as cursed forests, broken lands, volcanic islands and havens of the undead such as Liches, Vampires and Wraiths. Undead praise him as the father of all and many demonic creatures whisper him in secret as the true master of the Abyss, the one who watches in amusement over the Blood War and the one who all denizens of the various levels of Hell and dark planes most ultimately answer to. His way is that of anarchy, of the slaying of innocents, the fires of torment and the reign of darkness. Followers of Oblivious walk a path towards a land of dark powers and decadence where some of his Plane is rumored to even be devoted to the more darker lustful side of Enshar such as Succubi and other beings and creatures who prey on others with sex and exert over them control.

Places of Worship: Secret meetings of his followers occur on the full moon within graveyards or in secret chambers dug into the sewers of various towns. They gather to discuss, consort and pay homage to Oblivious via sacrifices of animals and virgins as they feel the purity of the maidens, being handed over to Oblivious is a stab at Lothos’s heart and in many ways they are correct. Of scared ground to them are areas where undead roam unhindered, where the evil races flourish and where death claims all such as Castle Vinader and Mt. Doom. Of disgust to them are lands of nature, bastions of good, and gatherings of Paladins. Followers of Oblivious and Lothos within the same room are soon quickly to break out into a fight and sometimes battles occur between gatherings of members.

Primals Favored: Those followers of Krondor are favored as from war and battle comes death. Followers of Enshar are also treated well as their erotic arts can prove useful in the temptation of devoted followers of Lothos and wiling them over to the darkness with promises of sexual favors.
Primals Opposed: However on the flip side of the coin the followers of Krondor who are devoted to justice and the preservation of order in the land are disliked by those of Oblivious who prefer a world free of the restraints of law, society, and rules and embrace the promises and joys of anarchy. Lothos stands far opposed from Oblivious and is locked with his followers in an eternal struggle. To those of Oblivious they know darkness shall and must prevail.
Omens: His coming is foretold by a sudden death or by a fountain suddenly erupting with blood. With he arrives a dark cloud roars overhead and the smell of death reeks within the air. His blessings are few but very tempting such as intimate moments with an Incubi or Succubus, the sudden learning of a new necromantic spell, the spawning of a few undead minions or the gaining of power at the cost of one’s own mortality such as gaining spells yet gaining a horrid disfigurement. His curses range from attacks by undead creatures, a plague, or the stirring of maddening thoughts within one’s mind such as inner screams that drive men to murder, rape or plummet off the nearest roof.
Typical Appearance: Oblivious appears as a man in jet black plate armor with a balor’s skull crafted as a helmet and brandishing a great sword gleaming of chaotic energy. When he walks the earth it is said that death, destruction and open portals to demonic realms are left in his wake.

Tempest

Primal of Time, Eternity & Paradox

Ideals: Clock smiths and those who see time as an entity in and of itself follow this Primal. They also believe that fate does not exist and we all determine our own paths. Many here feel that time is a fluid and can be changed. The followers become Chronomancers and those devoted to the study and debate over time and in regards to fate. They do not bother with an attempt to predict the future as they feel none have the right to try and decide what has yet to be written. This Primal is more devoted to an ideal that our life and destiny are really at our own control and those who follow tend to not follow many other Primals as they feel the others are too controlling in the affairs of mortals and that really a person, not some deity, should decide the fate of others. Good VS. Evil is of little concern to them as they feel above such squabbling and that the entire fate of the universe, be it good or evil reigns, is acceptable as it was decided by the mortals and not part of some written path. However they feel no side truly has a right to claim supremacy and such a battle will be eternal and never-ending. Not many Paladins of this religion exist as mostly the devoted become Chronomancers and study the art of temporal magic to gain a better control over their own paths and the paths of others. The book has yet to be written they feel and anything is possible. What happens is a direct result of their actions and not part of some grand plan by some deity. Due to the aloof nature there do not exist many corrupted forms of these followers.

Places of Worship: Very few places, besides the various Churches and Temples, are worshipped or considered sacred by followers of Tempest. Nor do they regard any area with disdain or hate. Everything can be changed and nothing is set in stone be it a holy abbey such as Arcnov or an area of vile darkness such as Castle Vinader.

Primals Favored: None of the other Primals or followers are really regarded by these followers. They see them as interlopers, those trying to take away from the personal freedoms of the masses and judge the fates of those who should be given control of their own fates. The only place they hold with high regard and sacred respect is a place no mortal will ever see or traverse – the space/time continuum
Primals Opposed: Lightshire is opposed by followers of Tempest for the followers of Lightshire believes that our life has already been written and that we are to follow a path laid down before us by the Primals. However this opposition is never in any hostile form and always plays itself out in great debates and philosophical discussions.
Omens: Not one to administer blessings or curses as that would be a deity trying to set a predestined path for a being, Tempest’s coming is announced by the sudden stopping of clocks in the area. Very rarely as any omens been seen and mostly Tempest is rumored to work or fix temporal paradoxes caused by extreme instances of temporal travel and alteration of the past.
Typical Appearance: Tempest is said to have appeared as a well-groomed and distinguished gentleman in a top hat but sometimes he uses possession instead to appear before one of his followers.

Mezul

Primal of Reluctance, Discipline, Fire & Wisdom

Ideals: Followed by Monks and those who wish for true neutrality within all. Who want restraint of actions thru wisdom and agree with viewpoints of balance. They are warriors but mainly study the mind as well as restraint and logic. Is for the restraint of emotions and not giving in to sudden impulses. Mezul stands alongside Krondor as one half of the representation of neutrality and cherishes the control of emotions via discipline and wisdom. Never should one allow themselves to such surge and explosions of emotion and one must conduct themselves with an inner reserve and restraint. Cause thru that clarity comes true power. Followers of this are martial artists, lands and races who cherish such emotional control and the SwordMages of Damocles. Mezul also represents the elemental force of fire and is in opposition with water as it can extinguish the flames. The rashness and lack of control of emotions can blind a person and destroy the clarity needed to make just and unbiased decisions. Followers of Mezul are either considered to be bored and no fun to be around or wise beyond their years with the calm and serene wisdom they exude. Due to the rigid inner demands there do not exist any fallen Swordmages or those who follow a darker path of Mezul’s teachings save for a few Fire Mages or Pyromancers.

Places of Worship: Rathleon Hall, the very center of the SwordMages, is one of the noblest locations for followers of Mezul as a SwordMage represents the very definition of power thru emotional discipline and inner self-control. Also volcanoes and areas of fire are well received by them. The oceans they do not tolerate nor do they tolerate houses where emotion and lust are allowed to rush out. Sometimes a SwordMage has been known to shut down a bordello by fighting the matter in the Senate and by convincing supporters the errors of their ways.

Primals Favored: Followers of Mezul stand alongside those of Lightshire, which advocates such balance of emotions and wisdom and of Krondor who supports the true neutrality in the battle of good and evil.
Primals Opposed: The rashness and free spirited natures of Enshar and Argus are of dislike to those of Mezul who oppose Enshar for her decadence and endorsement of lust and unchained emotions and Argus for his humor and deceptions that seek to work against the inner discipline Mezul teaches.
Omens: Mezul’s appearances are usually unannounced but his presence gives one an inner calm. His blessing and curses all deal with the absence or abundance of fire or the loss of inner control and wisdom. Those who anger him become suddenly lacking in common sense and those who anger him suddenly get sudden surges of it.
Typical Appearance: Mezul has rarely appeared and when so is usually seen as a human in mage robes however he prefers to remain unseen to his followers and others.

Enshar

Primal of Love, Procreation, Sexuality & Beauty

Ideals: Love, Beauty, Sex and birth. Everything from hookers to those wanting a free expression of love follow this area as well as people wanting happy marriages, good births or very good sex. This Primal stands most for the union of marriage and of love. The followers who act in the area of good try and spread love, mend relationships, be there to bless the births of newborns and aid in martial troubles. Those of the darker facets indulge in orgies, attempt to spread their seed into many women, or prefer domination thru sexual means and masters of seduction. This religion is at best neutral in the regard that it has an equal number of good and evil followers and it focuses more on a series of emotions and the creation of life than an element or ideal. Priests and Priestesses sell aphrodisiacs, birth control, fertility and love potions and help to council those having troubles in matters of the heart or in the bedroom. But the darker element of this prefers to control others with domination, conduct large orgies in meeting areas and sometimes even resort to rape and kidnapping.

Places of Worship: Enshar’s Temples and Churches are ones of beauty and adorned with statues in several erotic positions and with rather large genitalia and comely features. They gather in bordellos and areas where such free expression is welcome. They also have no conservative desire and sometimes dress in ways some may find appealing and others too revealing. They prefer to stay away from military installations as they are far too rigid for their liking however some find much amusement in tempting soldiers and officers on shore leave.

Primals Favored: Followers of Enshar favor those of Argus as they both believe in the free expression of emotion. Some of the darker followers also work hand in hand with followers of Oblivious and aid them in the tempting of Paladins from the path of Lothos.
Primals Opposed: The rigid natures of Krondor and Mezul are opposed and disliked by followers of Enshar. Also they find the naivety of Lothos to be amusing and see just how far they can tempt a Paladin, once a pious warrior of the light, into a world of lust and loose morals. Opposition to Krondor is to his laws and to Mezul is to the inner restraint and self-control that makes some of Mezul’s followers immune to the charms and seductive manner of Enshar. Those of Krondor they dislike and fear as the law-abiding nature has no room for the illegal bordellos frequented and sponsored by followers of Enshar.
Omens: Feelings of intense arousal and sudden explosions of orgasmic fury herald Enshar’s arrival as well as states of euphoria in which some people are either attracted from latent attractions or via lust. Her blessings bode well to lovers and work to keep couples together and happy in the bedroom and to keep women fertile and producing strong and healthy offspring. Also such blessings can do away with unsightly scars and return a face back to its once beautiful condition. Curses can do just the opposite turning virile men into impotent and ugly shadows of their former self, and wrecking happy relationships into constant squabbles and fusses with the women being barren and the men having a wandering eye. Several sexual diseases have also been blamed on curses of Enshar such as bestiality and necrophiliacs.
Typical Appearance: Enshar’s appearance is always that of a beautiful woman with comely features and appearing as both the maiden of love, the true mother, the ultimate lover and a master of the sexual arts.

Kraeth

Primal of Technology, Invention & Innovation

Ideals: Gnomes and Dwarves follow this as well as those who construct or build anything from shipwrights to bricklayers to airship engineers. For the success of what you build as well as the progression of newer and better ways to build things. For everything that exists there is bound to be a newer and better way to design and build it. From small canoes some great sea ships and then come airships and one day maybe ships that traverse the stars. It is this constant desire to better what we have, to use technology to make tasks easier and simple that drives the followers of Kraeth. There exist really no good or evil versions of the followers as their ideals are neutral and focused more on technology, design and what is to come from breakthroughs in engineering and scientists. Many designers, developers and scientists are followers of Kraeth as are races that pride themselves on engineering abilities.

Places of Worship: Temples of Kraeth are gathering areas of inventors and dreamers with grand ideas. Of high favor to them are places such as factories and Damocles Engineering Corporation in Basillicus, Damocles. They prefer to stay away from such native and tribal areas and frolic in the city life of places such as Damocles which is on the cutting edge of technology and promotes such innovation and inventions however a few are unhappy that all of Damocles’s advances benefit the military than the people.

Primals Favored: Those of Kraeth favor Followers of Argus as the information they gather and cherish helps in the design of new inventions.
Primals Opposed: Mezul’s restrained thinking they feels inhibits imagination and daydreaming where all the real ideas and concepts take form within the unchained mind of the inventor. To remain stuck in the old ways they feel is an insult to all inventors.
Omens: Rarely does he appear but his blessings take the form of sudden inspirations. His curses have just the opposite effect and hinder the creative spirit of an inventor or cause bad luck to befall engineering marvels.
Typical Appearance: Kraeth has been rarely seen but several rumors state he either takes on the form of a dwarf or a gnome. He seems to prefer to work thru his followers than make appearances as some of the other Primals like to do. Also some think he may spend his time on other more technologically advanced worlds that are as of yet unknown to the inhabitants on Imperia.

Tiordras

Primal of Water, Weather & Air

Ideals: Sailors and those who travel the seas. To worship Tiordras is to wish for safe sailing or good conditions in fishing well as worshipped by several aquatic races. Followers of this Primal frolic about in the open seas or the air or love to learn the magic needed for weather control. Many aerial races flock to Tiordras such as dragons, intelligent griffons and winged elves. His ideals are neutral and he is more of an elemental-based Primal representing half of the four sections of the Elements (Earth, Wind, Fire and Water). Earth is represented by Lothos and Fire by Mezul. The more corrupt followers attempt to flood the earth or conduct war among the air breathers from their aquatic homes such as the Sahuagin or darker merfolk. Others also believe in the natural air supremacy and conduct a fierce attack against airships or support such extremist policies like the black dragon Chronepesis’s campaign to destroy the Damocles Empire’s airship production capabilities.

Places of Worship: They frolic in waterfalls and the highest peaks of mountains or within fierce and raging storms. Temples and Churches of Tiordras are areas of worship to the water, weather and air and contain miniature waterfalls as tribute to the Primal. They find Skygripper Mountains, the highest known point, to be scared ground and several have died in an attempt to naturally climb it’s spires. Others also consider lands on Dineer to be sacred as they feel it is more meant for dragons than land walkers. Opposed are airship production areas that they feel is an encroachment upon their domain.

Primals Favored: Not many are favored and most are regarded with neutral feelings and sentiment.
Primals Opposed: Mezul, of Fire, And Lothos, of Earth, are opposed by Water and Wind respectfully as the elements fight for supremacy. Sometimes this conflict can take on aggressive events however it is not a common thing. And while followers of Kraeth bear no ill will, those of Tiordras are opposed to continued research and development of airship technology and of submersible craft technology. While Kraeth followers wish for coexistence, those of Tiordras are not as tolerant.
Omens: Tiordras’s appearance, though rare, is marked by a sudden rainstorm or a tornado on the horizon where the sky is normally clear. His blessing and curses are both aimed to benefit those water and air mages and help in their struggle against the earth however aquatic and aerial races benefit most from his powers.
Typical Appearance: Tiordras is said to have appeared to sailors as a still wall of water reaching some two hundred feet tall but these reports are far and few between.

Lightshire

Primal of Mortality, Destiny & Balance

Ideals: We all have a road to our lives and something that determines who we are and what we shall be. We all one day shall die as well. This Primal, like Tempest, best represents a philosophy that being that one’s life is already determined and they have a destiny. When it is time to die then it is time and nothing can be done regarding it. Followers of Lightshire are sometimes those who act in what they perceive to be as destiny and also soothsayers and fortunetellers who feel it is their place to tell one of the path to come. No real corrupt versions exist save for a few rare extremists who consider it their place and destiny to rise up in greatness as some hero or villain. On the other section of Lightshire is balance. A need not for good or evil to win but for both to remain equal. Whereas followers of Lightshire will one day work to aid evil that it feels is lacking in the balance, the very next day they will turn around and aid good. The balance of things is all that matters to them for good and evil need each other to exist. However only followers of Lightshire realize that.

Places of Worship: As Lightshire was once a mortal who in death ascended, many of his followers consider the very church Lightshire spent his time as King of Damocles to start, Arcnov Church, as scared ground and make yearly trips to go and worship on his grounds. All other worship is done within the various churches and temples of Lightshire. No grounds are regarded as offensive to them.

Primals Favored: Followers of Lightshire favor those of Mezul as inner discipline aids one in truly seeing the balance. Sometimes Swordmages are called out as the true ones who aid in maintaining this balance but they work more towards good than anything else. Depending on the current shift of the balance, followers of Lightshire will favor either those of Oblivious or Lothos.
Primals Opposed: Tempest is opposed as they feel the ideals of making your own destiny go against the concept of the path, journey and outcome already having been decided. They also are in opposition of Krondor and Mezul only on the matters of neutrality as they feel no one can really remain on the fence and out of the grand struggle. Eventually one has to either pick a side or get involved. Depending on the current shift of the balance, followers of Lightshire will oppose either those of Oblivious or Lothos.
Omens: Lightshire’s arrival is not announced by any massive displays or huge feats and he usually prefers to work thru his followers than appear personally. His curses and blessings, though rare, are powerful indeed. Those given his blessings are given brief insight into the road ahead. Those with his cursing are given false insight and visions of the road ahead and sometimes believe what they see to truly be their fate.
Typical Appearance: Sometimes mistaken for Lothos only cause of his elderly appearance, Lightshire appears as an elderly human in clerical robes. Those who at first mistake him for Lothos soon realize who he is when they do not see the usual growth of plant life that accompanies Lothos.
