
Airship Technical Review
Overview All items within are fantasy medieval and not high tech. I have applied high tech "terms" for lack of a more medieval sounding and shorter description.
Magic as energy: An explanation Magic conforms to the laws and explanations of energy such as gravity, light, sound, matter and elemental energy. To each energy is an equal counteragent. Magic itself is derived from "mana" a force that can be harnessed thru the use of incantations, artifacts and spells to perform certain duties. The Spells Wording acts as a "Programming Code" for the magic and is the basis for the creation of multi-purpose crystals.
Multi-Purpose Crystals Quartz crystals are programmed with modified spells hand written by Mages. A crystal is usually programmed with specific spells for certain purposes. Telepathy and Illusion Spells are forged into crystals to form a communications set. Spells such as Detect Object, Detect Magic and other spells used for detecting form crystals set for sensors. The crystals use spells to send information between them (System Links) and can also be modified to emit a pulse towards another connected crystal when the crystal is touched (Touch activation consoles). The crystals require a large staff of Mages and spells to create them and cannot be attempted by a regular person due to the costs and trouble to make one.
Quartz Crystals A Mineral in heavy abundance thru out the planet Imperia and solar systems in a 50 light year radius. The crystalline mineral possesses a certain structure that makes it ideal for the use as a "container" of magic energy and magical energy patterns
Weapons A "battery crystal" (Designed to hold up magical energy till sent to another point) is placed into a device resembling a large metal tube connected to a box. The battery crystal on command (Firing) unleashes its charged up load of magical energy out of the tube like outlet. (Fires like an energy cannon). Different sized crystals contain different charges of magical energy. (Bigger strength of weapons fire)
Shielding A string of crystals are used primarily to emit a protective barrier around the ship using a set amount of energy. This magical energy can be used to protect the ship from physical and magical attacks as well as interfere in the effect radius of a spell.
Teleportation A room in each ship is established with crystals infused with "Teleport Object" Spells. These spells can be used to send items of cargo as well as people back and forth from the ship.
Portal Generation On the basis of the Portal Frequency Theory a Portal Generator is a device housing a Portal Crystal that can be controlled to open a gateway for the ship leading to one point from its current location. This method of travel is used to go from chartered land to chartered land. Portal Generators usually are unreliable in traveling to unknown territory unless the ship has information regarding its immediate destination. (Gained thru Scry and View Location Spells infused into the ships Sensor Systems)
Portal Establishment Frequencies (Also known as Portal Frequency Theory) - On the basis that each planet within an alphaverse as its own "magical frequency" or location with which it occupies in the plane of divine mana (Field that magic spreads throughout the cosmos) a portal generator is designed to "lock" onto these portals and open a gateway from one world to the next for passage. A "frequency" is in itself a latitude/longitude convergence point within a planet within the same alphaverse and temporal reality as the item/person/artifact/generator trying to open the portal.
