Description and Notes
Fleet Data: The first real airship to test the Reaction Chamber Core, the Norcon class was far more expensive than anticipated, but possesses amazing stamina. A long and slender craft, resembling a fine edged blade, the Norcon class doesn't look overly impressive from the outside, but the specs show the airship is capable of amazing things. The longest airship of it's time, just barely edging out the Valcour class by 95 feet, the Norcon was built in 715 AD, equipped with the powerful Reaction Chamber Core. The ship has more available power than it knows what to do with, allowing it to stay in a fight far longer than any other airship in the Damocles Fleet or in opposing Fleets. Also with a small modification to a Pulse Cannon, it can act as an emergency Refueling Airship. Some Norcons are even given Refueling duty, when no suitable refueling craft is in range. 

To aid her obvious holes in point defense, the Norcon was given a compliment of five Mark 1 Wasp Fighter crafts, which can be deployed in an emergency to help the craft defend against aggressors. Overconfidence in the Reaction Chamber Core had the Battlecruiser equipped with no Emergency or Auxiliary Power sources, a mistake which was fixed in the Explorer class variant.

With a full compliment of torpedoes, and a bomb bay, the Norcon battlecruiser was placed on everything from combat duty to bombing runs, with it's Wasps flying ahead as cover. The Norcon was lacking in science gear, internal security, and was so overloaded her speed was knocked down by nearly 30%. While her Pulse Cannons are a weak type, so many of them exist to insure they all hit their target, and draw so little power that the Norcon can unless 10 full salvos of all weapons before needing to be concerned with power. Also the regenerating feature of the Reaction Chamber Core itself insures this airship will remain long in the fight where others would exhaust their power supplies and have to retreat. The Norcon enjoyed a successful run, with several of the craft being built. The Damocles Empire put in orders for well over 175 of these airships, and while no more battlecruisers are currently being built, an upgraded battlecruiser variant is being planned as the Norcon 722 Battleship Variant. 

In 717 AD, construction of the Battlecruisers was halted, but they remained in service as the Damocles Fleet switched focus from the Battlecruiser variant to the Explorer variant. The Norcon had her most fame in brief skirmishes with the Shadow Knights as well as the Krarthian Union, facing down several Krarthian and Shadow Knight airships however the Norcon has not had a real chance to be tested against the Verax.
