Verdania
Verdania is the main continent where our Role Play Channels are placed at. It is the main point of view for all things considered Imperia, and is considered the "Known World" much like Europeans thought the Old World was all there really was till Columbus stumbled across the New World. This is where all the main nations are, however it is not all of Imperia. Several nations exist in Verdania, each with their own unique traits.

|
#1: The Damocles Empire - A nation boasting of political, economic, and military muscle, the Damocles Empire commands the political playground with an iron fist. National pride is strong in Damocles, slandering unhappy citizens as traitors and viewing uncivilized nations as annoying, barbaric obstacles to be conquered. Damocles is the top level of magical technology with the most advanced airships and the average citizen enjoys luxuries that the citizens of other nations cannot afford to enjoy.
#2: The Axius Kingdom - Axius is a sea power as well as a critical point of trade. It's capital, Tantallon, features a daily trade fair and is the place for all merchants and economically minded people. However Axius is not a strong military power and is often picked on and attacked by other hostile nations such as Greyhelm, Roshack and the Shadow Knight Empire.
#3: The Kingdom of Dantania - Within every sea is a pearl and Dantania is that pearl among all other nations. A nation of peace, flourishing fauna, and exotic goods, Dantania is comparable to Camelot at its height. Being the oldest of all Kingdoms, Dantania shares a form of regal prestige in its golden age. Dantania has been close friends with Damocles for all of recorded history, a friendship traced back to when the founders of Damocles and Dantania were both brothers in arms and good friends. Dantania has never started battles or sent troops into them, but it is fiercely defended by the Damocles Empire. In exchange for this protection, Damocles gets lucrative trade rights and as well as docking rights for its Fleet and Navy ships in Dantanian ports. Dantania is heralded as a wonderful spot to "get away from it all" and harks back to a simpler time before the skies were ruled by airships.
#4: Terangoth - Terangoth is a lawless nation ruled by leaders more concerned with lining their pockets with gold than using the gold to help their subjects. The government is rumored to support the widespread black market and slavery industry, and ships sailing across Terangoth waters are usually attacked by pirates. Terangoth is overflowing with those who are rebellious against a dominating and watchful government and any strong policing of the citizen's life. Life here for the average person is dismal as homeless is plentiful, theft is widespread, and the protection from the two is lacking. Life is similar to any poverty stricken medieval kingdom.
#5: The Kender Archipelago - This collection of islands is the home of the peaceful but mischievous kender and other demi-human races. The islands are only considered a government by the nearby nations who protect them. Its denizens do not consider the islands united, nor do they care; the well being of the islands is one of the few things they will agree upon. Life here is the same as it is with the stereotypical kender: scattered villages composed of small wooden huts and a loosely organized collection of families who openly share their belongings with one other. The Kender's exports are fishing and agriculture, and they trade with Damocles and Dantania for money and shiny valuables.
#6: Greyhelm - Rising up from the subjugation of the former Kingdoms of Sureal and Muldune, this military regime is slowly growing in strength and aggression towards the nations of Axius and Damocles. Greyhelm is ruled by a military leader who gained power in a coup d'etat and is governed by fiefs of quarreling barons. Life here is very oppressive with heavy taxation and an overbearing monarchy. There is a sharp gap of wealth between the wealthy and the impoverished. Life here is very similar to Europe in the fiefdom days, the Nation actually being a loose combine of several small Barons and other smaller counties and districts. Infighting is very frequent.
#7: The Kingdom of Mennald - The Kingdom of Mennald gained its independence following the collapse of the Axius Kingdom in 714 AD. This Kingdom is considered to be a peaceful neutral port along the Eradina Sea. Mennald is considered to be a third world country compared to the other nations of Imperia. A highlight of Mennald is Relgard, where the Arennon Mist Inn resides and the home of the Tournament Arena of Verdania.
#8: Roshack - A very savage land, Roshack was bled dry from the reign by the Shadow Knight Empire. Roshack was briefly held by Damocles as a temporary liberation force but Damocles had to withdraw after finding Roshack was too hard to maintain a hold of in 717AD. This land is where slavery and other such evils run rampant, why? Remember that "failed attempt" that was mentioned earlier regarding humans? They are called the Verdane and they call Roshack home, however the Verdane are mythical, believed only to be a rumor and a legend.
#9: The Verax Empire - The Verax Empire is ruled by a race of carnivorous frogmen who excel at magical research and hand-to-hand combat. They discovered crystal technology 30 years before Damocles did and are just as advanced, especially with warships. The Verax were first encountered in Daguenet (Region 2). A violent war occurred between the Verax and Damocles Empires in the early 700's. The struggle was in favor of the Verax until a risky attack lead by Damocles General Baiganx Windfire on the D.I.S. Victory 5 destroyed the so-called capital of the Verax Empire. Now it is known that the area of Daguenet was merely an outpost of the Verax and their Empire is to the far south of Roshack. The Verax are a warrior society ruled by clans and families devoted to the survival of their nation. The killing of a human by a Verax is no more shocking to the Verax than the killing of a cow is to a human. The Verax capture human settlements and relocate the population to breeding areas like humans herd cattle. The Verax are civil to any reptilian or non-human races. However, the Verax view elves, halfings and dwarves as nothing more than mutant humans. The Verax have no qualms over the eradication of these races and would do so easily and without guilt.
#10: The Vernalla Republic - Vernalla is in disfavor of other nations for its history of quickly siding with evil nations. This agricultural nation is ruled by King Rehel, who is notorious for being a nefarious wizard and aiding the Shadow Knight Empire's year-long occupation of Tantallon in 705 AD. Although Rehel is powerful, a council holds the true power over Vernalla's affairs. Life is similar to that of a medieval kingdom with its normal mix of loyal, neutral and discontent citizens.
The following nations are not displayed nor located on the Verdanian Map, however they are still of great importance
The Shadow Knight Empire - This nation is not located on Verdania, or even Imperia, but they have played an important part in Verdanian politics for the last 30 years and remain a constant threat. The Shadow Knight Empire is a massive organization spanning planets, ruled by the Titan/Troll Galadore and features several of the more evil or darker races. Galadore's goal is conquest, returning the lands he feels were unrightfully stolen from his kind the Titans. The Shadow Knight society and way of life is very similar to Germany during the time of the Nazis and Hitler in World War II.
